Emporium April 2017 Update

Recently Austin Howard and Morgan Snyder became the Leads of the Spark Emporium. This is the retail storefront run by the Spark community located at 13 Golden St. in New London showcasing an extensive range of original products created by artisan makers who live in southeastern CT. Spark Members get a 70 / 30 commission split while non-members get a 50 / 50 split.

The Emporium is revamping in the month of April, taking new inventory and re-arranging. There are two drop offs this week between the hours of 4 - 8pm on Friday April 28th and 12 - 5pm on Saturday April 29th as well as by appointment by emailing emporium@spark.coop.

Hannah Gant has been working with Austin and Morgan to connect the Emporium with SCORE mentors and other advisors to develop a stronger business plan. The three of them are presenting this plan for the community's input at the Tuesday May 9th Entrepreneurship Meetup, 5:30 - 7pm at Spark Coworking. An immediate goal is to apply for a grant through Etsy that is called Maker Cities that is due on May 26th.

Part of the plan forward for the month of May includes a series of Salons featuring different local makers doing a show-and-tell of their process and story. Please comment if you know of a maker in southeastern CT who would be a good fit for this. Also, spread the word that the Emporium is taking on new vendors throughout May.
