Group Classes

Perfect for last-minute holiday gifts or a way to spend time with friends and family in the new year, Spark now offers private group classes. Purchase the class now and then coordinate a time to take it with your friends. Class sizes, prices and ages vary, so please check the descriptions for more info.

After you purchase the class, please forward your email receipt to make@spark.coop so we can put you in touch with the instructor for scheduling. 

It's as Easy as Apple Pie

Instructor: Maple Andrews

$120 for up to 4 people (children 10 and up are welcome)

Your group will spend this 2-3 hour class making apple pies from scratch including an easy pie crust. Then take them home with you!

Intro to Lino Cutting & Printing 

Instructor: Morgan Snyder

$150 for up to 5 people (adults only)

Learn how to carve a lino block and make a small print in 3-hour class. Class takers should come prepared with a simple design already drawn (3x5 in).

Textured Bracelet Class

Instructor: Kimberly Kantharaj

$200 for up to 5 people (high school age & up)

An additional material fee of $10 per student will be collected at the class.

In this 2-hour class, you will learn about texturing metal components to create a finished piece to take home. Various techniques will be demonstrated using traditional metal working tools.

Students will then be able to try out and practice these techniques on scrap metal before applying the newly learned techniques to create a finished bracelet. We will also learn about metal coloring.

This is a beginners class, but all levels are welcome! All tools are provided.

Introduction to Riveting

Instructor: Kimberly Kantharaj

$200 for up to 5 people (high school age & up)

An additional material fee of $15 per student will be collected at the class.

In this 2-hour class students will learn the basic techniques used to form Cold Connections (connecting metal without the use of a torch). Students will become familiar with the tools used for riveting, learn basic techniques, and complete a project. Students will have the choice of a Ring project or a Bangle project. Students can make an additional project if time allows.

This is a beginner's class but all skill levels are welcome. All tools are provided.

Cyanotype Photograms

Instructor: Aly Maderson-Quinlog

$250 for up to 5 people (age 8 and up)

An additional material fee of $5 per person will be collected at the class.

2 Day Workshop (5 hours):
Day 1(2.5 hours): Learn about alternative photograph process and the history of early photography. Participants will make cyanotype photograms that will be used as a base for later artwork.

Day 2(2.5 hours): Participants will alter cyanotype photograms made on day one. We will explore how this media can be used as a structure for original artwork. Basic watercolor and pen techniques explored.

Basic Bookbinding

Instructor: Aly Maderson-Quinlog

$250 for up to 5 people (age 12 and up)

An additional material fee of $10 per person will be collected at the class.

2 Day Workshop (5 hours):

Day 1(2.5 hours): Participants will be introduced to the history and physics of bookbinding. We will explore Instant bookmaking and discuss creative choices in book design.

Day 2(2.5 hours): Participants will learn more basic binding stitches and construction methods like pamphlet making and constructing soft or hard covers for their books.
