Spark is able to host a QFO (qualified food operator) certification class on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017with a SNOW day of Sunday Feb. 5, 2017. If you pass the test at the end of the 8 hour class, you will be qualified to handle and prepare food for sale (e.g. chef for a night in Spark Kitchen, help prepare and serve food at a Spark event, making your own product for resell, etc.).
The class is 8 hours long. It will start promptly at 9am, so please plan to arrive by 8:45am. The class will end by 5pm. The class begins with a pretest, followed by instruction. There will be a break for lunch. Please bring your own lunch. Spark has a microwave and toaster oven to warm up food and coffee and tea will be available. After lunch there will be more instruction. At 3pm the instructor administers the test. Students have up to 2 hours to complete the (very difficult) test. (not everyone passes the test and if that is the case, you will have to pay for another test $75)
The class will cost $125 total for Spark Members. $150 for non-members.
Spark needs $100 deposit on the class. Spark will be ordering the book you will need to study for the class.
Spark will be placing an order for the books 2 times. First on Dec. 15th (you will receive your book earlier so you can study it longer) and a second order will be placed on Friday Jan. 6th.
